Fisher-Price {Spoil Your Family Review + Giveaway #23}
Welcome to day 18 of the Spoil Your Family Summer Giveaway Event being hosted by Annette from Annette Funnyjello and myself. Today’s sponsor is Fisher-Price. Be sure to visit Annette’s blog for a chance to win a different Fisher-Price toy.
Fisher-Price is a brand we all know and love. It’s been around for a very long time. I had Fisher-Price toys growing up and Leland has a few of his own as well. We were sent the Bubble Mower to review and he loves it. My kid loves anything with wheels that he can push all over the place, so this is the perfect toy for him.
Even though Leland loves the Bubble Mower, there are things about it that are not-so-great, like the fact the bubble feature doesn’t work in some weather conditions. I don’t like having a toy that doesn’t work 100% of the time, but Leland remains happy because he’s at an age where he just enjoys running around with it and doesn’t realize it’s full potential. Below is information taken from the Fisher-Price about conditions that may cause the Bubble Mower problems in creating bubbles, as well as favorable conditions for using the mower.
Things that may cause poor bubble performance:
* Foamy build-up in bubble solution reservoir.
* Dirt, stones or other contaminants in the bubble mechanism.
* Old or dirty bubble solution.
* Lubricants, oils and non-detergent soaps.If you notice any of the above conditions, wash reservoir out thoroughly with a garden hose and fill with fresh bubble solution.
Weather conditions play a huge role in the bubble-making process. Unfortunately, ideal play days are not necessarily ideal bubble-making days. Please keep in mind the following weather conditions for the best results:
Best Bubble Conditions:
* Wet, sticky, muggy (high humidity) days
* Cloudy days (without any direct sunlight)
* After a rain shower
* Foggy days
* Shaded places
* At dusk as the sun sets, or at dawn when it’s risingPoor Bubble Conditions:
* Hot, dry days. Low humidity makes for poor bubble-making conditions. Bubbles evaporate before they can form. Also, the bubble solution evaporates quickly and becomes too thick, needing to be cleaned and replaced with fresh solution.
* Windy days
* Direct sunlight (will cause bubbles to evaporate quickly)
* Dirty, dusty air (dirt and dust stop the bubble-making process)
I will also add that the Bubble Mower has not blown bubbles in our experience when all four wheels are not on the ground, which at the pace Leland runs is nearly impossible to do and it also doesn’t work indoors. I wish it did work more often so I could get some pictures of Leland pushing his mower while bubbles shoot out from it. Otherwise, this is a great toy…and you get what you pay for at only $18.
